Homage to Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs 1955-2011

In his 56 years, Jobs lived a full and varied life in epic movie form. Given up for adoption as a baby, he formed a strong bond with his new parents, learning the basics of electronics from his father as a boy, which helped spark his future career in the world of computers.

Steve Jobs lived the American dream as few ever do, which was not the easy or lazy choice. After a falling-out with his fellow Apple co-founders, Steve was basically fired from his own company. He could have stopped there and just retired. He left Apple with enough money to do so, but he still loved his work and had ideas he wanted to translate into action. So he used his own money to start NeXT Computer. After a rough start, Jobs branched out into making software within NeXT. These software innovations impressed his former company, Apple, so much, they bought NeXT, bringing Jobs back on board as CEO (or iCEO as Jobs often joked).

Simultaneous to getting NeXt Computers rolling, Jobs purchased Pixar studios and, working with Disney Studios, brought animation technology up to an unprecedented level.

Jobs also had a spiritual side, and as young man, embarked on a quest to India to explore Buddhism, which continued to be an important part of his life. He and his wife Laurene Powell were married by a Buddhist monk.

Few people have made such a mark on the world as Steve Jobs. Known for his genius, his innovation, his brilliance, we thought it only right to pay homage in our own way.
